Navigation

Navigation to the Savegame folder is easy when following the below steps. First, press Windows + R keys on your keyboard. The 'Run' prompt will then appear, what you enter in the box is different for your installation conditions.

For Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10:

Non-Steam:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Game Dev Tycoon\Local Storage

Steam Edition:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Game Dev Tycoon - Steam\Local Storage

For Windows XP (Untested):

Non-Steam:

C:\Documents and Settings\Users\%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Game Dev Tycoon\Local Storage

Steam Edition:

C:\Documents and Settings\Users\%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Game Dev Tycoon - Steam\Local Storage

Then click OK, if all is well the \Local Storage directory will appear.

  • If Steam or the game in not installed on the C:\ directory, change accordingly.

Editing

You can edit things that you can find in the savegames file using this. After opening the file, locate the Browse Data tab, then you can freely edit any numbers or strings you find. However, upon closing a key, make sure to click 'Apply Changes', instead of clicking the Close button, as it removes all work done on the key without asking to save your work.
